Charles Uzzell-Edwards (born in South Wales 1968), also known as ‘Pure Evil’ is the son of prominent Welsh painter John Uzzell Edwards, and a stablemate of Banksy.
Inspired by a sojourn into skateboard culture and the west coast character graffiti of San Francisco, he returned to London and spray-painted prolifically.
Having now developed this visual language into a multi decade career Pure Evil exhibits worldwide including recent solo shows in Italy, China, Russia, Brazil, USA and all over the Europe. He lives in London, where he runs 2 eponymous galleries and regularly lectures on Street Art.
This new body of work curated by DK Johnston and presented at New York’s ‘The Quin’ Hotel encompasses fine art on paper as well as canvases and a collection of written words by the artist to be included in the video art installation directed by award winning filmmaker Bill Mack.
