Screen Shot 2017-10-26 at 5.23.33 PM

Secret Walls began back in 2006 in a small bar in East London, it was small and intimate yet had the potential to be so much more. Secret Walls is the world’s premier live illustration battle. Working in a similar way to Fight Club, Secret Walls battles are set up and promoted through word of mouth and social media with battles taking place between two individuals or teams of artists.

On Monday November 6, Melbourne will once again play host to this prestigious event. Fighting it out at Melbourne’s The Vic Bar will see Callum Preston and Heesco vs. Jack Douglas and Unwell Bunny….

VNA at the Burning Ink Art Show in Istanbul in association with DC…

The guys from DC Shoes UK, very kindly invited VNA along to check out the closing party of the Istanbul “Burning Ink Art Show” held at Milk Gallery in the heart of the city.

For those of you who dont know, the Burning Ink events are a chance to buy a piece of original artwork, have it tattoo’d on your skin before the art is burnt and destroyed leaving only the tattoo as the only record of the artwork. Its a great concept that has now happened in various cities across the world including London, Paris andNew York…

This show in Istanbul pulled in some top artists from all over the world…

Ajay Bisset (UK), Clyde Barrow (UK), Dean 123klan (FR), Éloïse De Guglielmo (FR), Little Madi (FR), Marke Newton (UK), Frank Pellegrino (FR), Cristina Petrucci (UK), Pablo Iglesias (Es), Ilk (FR),Caroline Karénine (Fr), MMav (Fr), Amélie du Petit Thouars (FR), Jérémy Pradeilles (Fr), Prunelle (FR), Rorofrose (TU), Ilhan Bilir (Tu), Dramatik (Tu),Xghetto 666 (Mex), SSUR (Ru), Spoe (FR), Ramon San Miquel (Es), Chloé Trujillo (USA)

Mark Bodeeeee

Hot off the blocks from his latest shows in Melbourne and Sydney, we managed to sneak a few words with the legendary Mark Bodé. Check it.

So, first off, something that’s been bugging me, how do you pronounce your surname?

Its pronounced BOE DEE, my father put the long E sign over the E but it became Bode in print, so many people pronounce it wrong because of that…

Obviously your father is a big influence on your work, what was it like growing up with all that creativity around you?

I was always around great artists as a child but they never seemed as cool as my dad! But I learned early by being exposed to their works.
