Moniker Art Fair 2016 opens this week and we’re pretty excited! Some of our favourite galleries are going to be showcasing the best of their artists and there’s some great new projects from the Art on a Postcard guys, Maser and our boy Josh Stika! This year also features open studios from some of London and Dublin’s finest.
London-based artist, Josh Stika, aka Stika, has just opened his latest show in London’s Hoxton Hotel. Neon typography is in abundance, heavily influenced by lyrics from ’90s dance tunes. We got a few words from him about his career to date, the haters, ‘selling out’ and who he’d love to work with in the future.
VNA: So can you tell us a bit more about your new show, where, when, etc?
Stika: The exhibition is at The Hoxton Hotel, Shoreditch. It launches on the 19th of November is up for 3 months in the build up to the bespoke ‘Stika’ hotel room opening in late January.
As a solo show I aimed to make it as diverse as possible to ensure that anyone visiting doesn’t feel like they’re looking at the same piece/style 30 times over. I dabbled with the idea of a ‘group solo’ show – then I just realised this made it look like I had multiple-personality disorder so I let that one go…
Our boy Stika has a print show opening at Boxpark, Shoreditch tonight – 6-9pm, drinks from Jamesons.
You can also check out his latest Spring/Summer 2014 collab, ‘Fruit Cocktail’ with Boxfresh here:

THE ID CREW SHOW – Surrounded By Idiots
The ID collective is a highly prolific mixed bag of tricks. Formed by brothers Tizer and Shucks in 1996, the crew started a collective of underrated underdogs. These guys now strive to constantly raise the bar in their own ways, whether it be Tizer painting Malcolm Mclaren’s coffin, or Stika pushing the technical boundaries of can control on the street.
