VNA 30 London Launch

vnaIMG_5651

Big ups to all the people that made it down to the VNA Issue 30 Limited Edition London launch at East London’s Great Eastern Bear, featuring original screen-printed box sets from New York’s finest, Futura.

vnaIMG_5640

It was an amazing turnout with lots of love for one of the seminal New York graffiti artists. Supported with beer from Brooklyn-based brewery, Sixpoint, as well as some Soffle’s pitta chips to soak up the sauce, and DJ LOL Cool J providing the tunes.

vnaIMG_5646

Ironlak and local paint supply store, Chrome & Black came through with materials for local legend D*face to put up a billboard overlooking Shoreditch with a positive message to the people, ‘Think Bike’ – a nod to all the bikers in London and one of D*face’s own personal passions.

VNA 30 – Limited Edition – Futura Box Set

ISSUE 30 LAUNCH LONDON (1)

VNA 30 is here. This is a landmark issue with an extra special artist for the cover – a true godfather of graffiti, Futura, formerly known as Futura2000. He talks candidly about the stratospheric highs and crushing lows of his dramatic life and career to date.

VNA _30_SPEC_2

As always, VNA have produced a Limited Edition run of screen-printed magazines, lovingly prepared by our friends at White Duck Screen Print and this issue is no exception. Each boxset features Futura’s artwork screen-printed on the box and magazine cover and inside you’ll find included a set of four die-cut stickers and and an exclusive wooden model of Futura tag on Brooklyn Bridge.

VNA _30_SPEC_3

The box sets will be available to buy excusively at the London launch this Thursday 4th June from Great Eastern Bear, 8a Great Eastern St, Shoreditch, EC2A 3NT. We’ll have some complimentary beers from Brooklyn-based brewmasters, Sixpoint, as well as a few select paintings from some of the artists we know and love and some spicy snacks courtesy of Soffle’s Pitta Chips.

VNA _30_SPEC_4

As if all that wasn’t enough, D*face will be painting a billboard to guide you to the event space, supported by our friends at Ironlak and Chrome & Black, and local dancefloor destroyer, LOL Cool J will be spinning tunes to make you move to.

VNA Issue 27 & London Launch

VNA 27 is in stores now! You can buy online, or at any of our stockists worldwide, including WHSmiths and Barnes & Noble.

VNA_27_Both_covers

Proving that print is definitely not dead, we bring you the best of the worlds street art and graffiti scene in another jam-packed mag fresh from the London-based team.

VNA27_launch_LDN_WEB

Our cover artist, Aryz (pronounced ‘Arriz,’ for the record) is one of the youngest, most talented large-scale mural painters of his generation. He’s a total monster when it comes to the sheer size of his work, so we were stupidly excited when he agreed to do a cover feature.

VNA 26 LTD Edition Launches – London and Bristol

VNA25_launch party_LDN

For the cover of VNA 26, we’ve returned to the UK to chat to a hugely influential artist and a bit of a personal hero of ours, Robert Del Naja, a character from the art world perhaps better known by his musical moniker; Massive Attack’s 3D. Featuring our first ever glitter screenprint, this is a milestone in VNA history and we’re pretty stoked with this collaboration with the Bristolian artist.

VNA NYC Launch 2.0

So we had a little party in NYC last Thursday to celebrate the launch of Issue 25, with some limited edition, signed Swoon screen-printed copies of our latest lovely mag, with all profits from the sales going to Swoon’s Braddock Tiles project.

DSC_0023

Our friends at Supra Footwear let us use their awesome NYC store in Manhattan, on Prince and Bowery, just round the corner from Maya Hayuk’s latest New York wall. Big ups to Chris Vidal and the rest of the Supra team for helping make this happen.

DSC_0083

Sixpoint Brewery are bang into everything street-art and kindly gave us a load of their ‘Sweet Action’ Ale and ‘The Crisp’ Lager to keep everyone lubricated. It went down a storm and now we insist on Sixpoint beers wherever we go out drinking in NYC.

DSC_0113

We had Miranda Maxwell on the decks spinning some classic hip hop beats to keep everybody moving too, you can catch her pumping up the jam at heaps of spots all over NYC.

DSC_0057

A bunch of friends and family passed through, with everyone from Daze, Inkie, Expresso Bean Forum, Brooklyn Street Art, Jonathan Levine Gallery, Arrested Motion, Vandalog, Vexta, Icy and Sot and a whole host of fresh faces and fans.
