Big thanks to everyone who came down to support the launch the other day! Special thanks to the Nelly Duff guys for hosting, REBEL8 and Out Of Step for the goodies and Sixpoint Brewery for the delicious beer. We were supposed to have some 1XRUN x Mike Giant prints but the UK customs guys made us wait, so we’ll be running a competition for those soon, stay tuned…
Very Nearly Almost Magazine launches the VNA 28 Limited Edition, featuring a screenprinted box set from Rebel8’s head clothing designer, Mike Giant. The regular cover features an iconic shot of Giant by Melbourne-based photographer, Nicole Reed.
Nelly Duff presents an exclusive one night exhibition with Ben EINE, in the heart of London’s East End.
The exhibition will be held in a disused warehouse, one of the last remnants of industrial Shoreditch. Since the turn of the millennium EINE was instrumental in developing the area into the artistic hub that it is today, and his bold use of colour and signature spray dust finish has cemented him as supreme ‘Font Smith’ of the Street Art genre worldwide.
The show marks the release of EINE’s 52 colour screen printed edition ‘Tenderloin’ A-Z, which takes its name from an area of San Francisco and brings the West Coast of America to EINE’s home audience!
This exhibition will also launch ‘The World Atlas of Street Art and Graffiti’ by Dr. Rafael Schacter, co-curator of the Tate Modern’s renowned Street Art exhibition. EINE is one of the featured artists in this new book from Aurum Press which documents Street Art across the globe. EINE will customise 10 x ATLAS covers with the letter A, available randomly with the purchase of the book on the night.
Date: September 18th 2013
Venue: Secret East London location- address to be revealed 1 day before the opening Nelly Duff on social media.
Nelly Duff, Eine and publishers Aurum have also kindly put aside TWO copies of the book to give away to VNA readers. Stay tuned for details on how to win!
We all know Wednesdays are horrible middle of the week, no-mans-land days, but thankfully Londoners are in luck and can find salvation this evening at Matt Small’s show, presented by Nelly Duff at Hoxton Hotel.
“Nelly Duff is proud to announce ‘The Radiant Ones’ an exhibition of paintings, etchings and sculpture with Matt Small, the BP Portrait Prize nominee and one of the most important young British painters of our time. The lovely Hoxton Hotel on Great Eastern Street will be our venue for the exhibition opening Wednesday July 3rd 6.30pm..
Small uses found objects sourced from the urban environment as the canvas on which to base portraits of overlooked and underprivileged youngsters. In this way, Small re-invigorates discarded items, and people, once set aside by mainstream society, now reborn in his highly emotionally charged artworks.”
Not to be missed!
Last few days to see the Gaia show going down at Nelly Duff at the moment entitled ‘Show of Hands’. Definitely worth checking out!
