The Hard Rock Stadium murals

After turning Wynwood into a worldwide street art phenomenon, Goldman Global Arts recently wrapped up the first leg of another big project they are working on @ The Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Bringing urban art to a new spaces, and giving artists the chance to share their work with a new audience, 18 new murals were created during the last couple of months while the stadium was re branded into a global entertainment venue.

1) The large glass palette where I mix up a specific range of colors for each painting. This streamlines my painting process while also allowing me to strategize the overall color key that the painting will take on in the end. I buy a lot of my paint from a colorist in Brooklyn named Robert Doak who works with rare pigments that you can’t find anywhere else.

Arkham Knight – Cape & Cowl Exhibition

WB Games UK teamed up with twenty of the most exciting contemporary artists and media celebrities to celebrate the launch of Batman: Arkham Knight with a new exhibition reimagining the Caped Crusader’s iconic Cape and Cowl headpiece, running at Kachette, Shoreditch, London back in June.

Using life-sized replicas of Batman’s famous costume as a blank canvas, each artist and celebrity will produce their own unique interpretation of the Dark Knight’s attire.

Featuring celebrities from the worlds of TV, film, music and fashion, such as Jonathan Ross, Noel Clarke, Eliza Doolittle and Jodie Kidd and high profile artists such as Nancy Fouts, Lauren Baker, Hayden Kays, Inkie, Pam Glew, INSA, The Connor Brothers, Zeus, Matt Small, Jon Burgerman, Case, CRASH, Cyclops, Kid Acne, Logan Hicks and Pure Evil, the exhibition will run through the launch week of Batman: Arkham Knight.

NO AD – Jordan Seiler Interview

Off the back of his awesome bus-shelter keys initiative, PublicAdCampaign, Jordan Seiler is taking back the streets and taking on the ads in the virtual world as well as the physical. Pioneering the way for real-life ad blockers, Jordan has spent years researching and mapping out all the New York subway adverts so they can easily be digitally replaced by a carefully curated selection of art from over 50 (and growing) different international artists. We spoke to him to get the lowdown on his subversive new app: NO AD.

NUART PLUS

Nuart Plus is the festivals annual series of academic and industry talks from some of the world leading artists, academic and industry professionals. A dynamic series of talks, presentations, workshops, panel debates, film screenings and more take place in the days before the exhibition opening. Previous guests have included Ron English, Swoon, Saber, Chris Stain, Dan Witz, Brad Downey, Logan Hicks and many more.

The events are recorded and made available on their website for research and educational purposes for free. The archive will be developed over the coming years into what they hope eventually gives an important historical insight into the life and times of Street Art. NUART 2014 : “BENEATH THE PAVING STONES, THE BEACH” This year’s Nuart Plus program will tackle the two ends of the street art-continuum, namely “safe murals” on the one hand and street art and activism on the other.

THE STREET ART SHOW – OPERA GALLERY LDN.

Have known about this one for a little while but only just had the confirmed details sent through.

Having supported street artists and graffiti artists in NYC, Paris and other major cities around the world, Opera gallery’s London crew has pieced together some big names from the urban art world, both past and present to produce ‘The Street Art Show’

I have to say, its a mighty impressive line-up, but after being big fans for a while I think I am most excited about seeing Kid-zoom, How & Nosm and Sabers work in the flesh.

The show runs from the 17th – 30th of June.
