Brandalism – Black Friday Ad Takeover – Paris COP21

Over 600 artworks critiquing the corporate takeover of the COP21 climate talks were installed in advertising spaces across Paris last night – ahead of the United Nations summit beginning this Monday.

Amidst the French state of emergency banning all public gatherings following the terrorist attacks on 13 November in Paris, the Brandalism project has worked with Parisians to insert unauthorised artworks across the city that aim to highlight the links between advertising, consumerism, fossil fuel dependency and climate change.

Li-Hill – Carbon

C.A.V.E. Gallery is pleased to present “Carbon” – an impressive new collection of work by Li-Hill.

The global tension of man versus nature continues to be a driving influence in Li-Hill’s work. For this new series, Li-Hill portrays a diverse selection of animals whose habitat is threatened by the effects of industrialization, especially carbon producing industries.
The show title references the cycle of life and death. It is a reminder that all matter is made from carbon and starts and finishes with this element. The series also reflects the effects of carbon emissions on climate change and the dire consequences this has on habitats and the natural world.

JustKids x Life Is Beautiful Festival

Recently JustKids teamed up with Life Is Beautiful Festival to produce this amazing mural event. Ambitious in scope, some of the best artists from all over the world converged to transform 15 blocks of Downtown into a one-of-a-kind open-air urban gallery.

Fintan Magee 2

Curated by Charlotte Dutoit (JustKids) for the second year, the artists transformed the festival landscape into a magical art-inspired playground to give people a playful and unexpected escape into art. A huge abandoned motel was turned into an interactive playground and 6 installations were placed throughout the premises.

After two weeks of intense work, the murals and installations seamlessly integrate into the festival’s footprint which was visited by over 100,000 people over the course of three days, turning it into the largest North-American Street Art event.

Even though Life Is Beautiful 2014 is now finished, the murals are still visible in Downtown Las Vegas.

21st Precinct

VNA recently teamed up with Robert Aloia and Suzuki Capital LLC to bring together a groupshow of epic proportions at a derelict police precinct in NYC.

faust-vexta-fight-or-flight-panorama-iphone

The show will be in the old 21st Precinct police building, located on 327 East 22nd St. It was built in 1863 and acted as a functioning precinct until 1914. We will have a pop up gallery space and 4 floors of murals, wheatpastes, graffiti and installations by renowned artists from NYC and worldwide. In the tradition of the Outlaw Parties of the late 80′s and early 90′s we will re-invigorate an unused space with a wide range of creative minds working in multiple mediums. Scheduled opening reception is 8/16/14 and will be open for viewing all weekend and a closing event the following weekend. The building is scheduled for demolition the last week of August. This will be the first of an ongoing series with Suzuki Capital at their various properties throughout the boroughs.
