Our cover artist, Aryz (pronounced ‘Arriz,’ for the record) is one of the youngest, most talented large-scale mural painters of his generation. He’s a total monster when it comes to the sheer size of his work, so we were stupidly excited when he agreed to do a cover feature.

For the cover of VNA 26, we’ve returned to the UK to chat to a hugely influential artist and a bit of a personal hero of ours, Robert Del Naja, a character from the art world perhaps better known by his musical moniker; Massive Attack’s 3D. Featuring our first ever glitter screenprint, this is a milestone in VNA history and we’re pretty stoked with this collaboration with the Bristolian artist.

Chasing Ghosts “That One Shot”

VNA is a proud sponsor of Melbourne’s first Street Art Photography Award presented by Chasing Ghosts.

“Over the last few years the Melbourne street Art Scene has exploded with amazing work from local and international talent.

This in turn has inspired hundreds of photographers to find creative ways to capture the evolution of Melbourne’s streets. In 2013 we are calling on the photographers of Melbourne to submit their favourite single shot as part of “That One Shot” Melbourne’s first Street Art Photography Award.

A short list of the top 12 entries will reviewed by a panel of five industry judges including Toby from Just Another Agency and local photography legend Nicole Reed. First and second prize packs and a “Peoples Choice” award will be presented to participants on the night of the event.

We have a great selection of local and international sponsors such as Lomography, Light Leaks Photo Studio, Very Nearly Almost Magazine, Boywolf clothing and Uppercup and Obese Records supplying goods for the prize packs.

The event will be hosted at Husband in South Yarra on Friday the 13th of December where photos from all 12 finalists will be displayed.

Entries are open until the 30th of November 2013, head to Thatoneshot.com for more details and to enter. ”
