Bezt From Etam Cru Paints 2 Canvases & 168 Sketches on Wood For MyFinBec

bezt_myfinbec01

Swiss winery FinBec recently introduced the first part of their annual MyFinBec project that combines wine making and urban art. For the 4th consecutive year they are commissioning artists to create artworks to be used on labels of their fine organic wine, and the first artist on this year’s roster is Bezt from Etam cru.

Polish muralists already participated in the event last year with 2 large works, and Bezt was the first one to create works for their new concept in 2015. This year the artists are painting canvas works as images that will be used on bottle labels along with producing a number of sketches on wood. These are available for purchase through MyFinBec official website and are coming with 2 bottles of this year’s wine, but also, will be on view and available @ Moniker art fair from October 15–18 at the Old Truman Brewery in London, as well as on shows that are planned through Europe at later date. After all the sketches are released, MyFinBec will introduce their next participating artists and the rumor is it’s another art duo, or part of it, that we’ll be seeing new and exclusive works from.

ARTURb: imprisonment is a beautiful way to free art on the streets.

This summer we chose Lagos for our holiday destination. We were looking for beautiful, quiet beaches,  nice hot stretches in the sun, cool places for drinks before dinner, and, yes, a little bit of buzz.  No more expectations.  The truth is we had much more than that: we ended up being struck by what we found on the city walls.

As you start to wander the alleys you literally bump into pieces from international artists such as ROA, BEZT, SAINER, ARYZ, SEPE, ONUR or BORONDO, to mention some, in addition to works from well known Portuguese ones as MÁRIO BELÉM, MAISMENOS, ADDFUEL, amongst others. It wouldn’t be as dazzling if we were in Berlin or Buenos Aires; the thing is it takes place in Lagos, a tiny spot on the Portuguese map, a small picturesque village. How the hell is this happening here?

Bezt from Etam Cru is releasing a 16 color lithograph

bezt_medusa1

Bezt, one of the members of Polish dynamic duo, Etam Cru, just announced his new limited edition coming via Print Them All on Wednesday 17th of December. “Medusa” is a 16 color lithograph that the artist worked on at Idem studio in Paris, making it one of the most challenging prints ever coming out of this historic place.

The fine art edition is featuring iconic image of Medusa, a mythological creature that turns people to stone with her look and has poisonous snakes for hair. Bezt did a bit of a twist to the familiar image, made her look more contemporary, and added a familiar beanie covering the bright colored snakes. Using an interesting palette of over saturated colors, the finished edition carries all the elements of his signature style.

“Medusa” will be available on the 17th December at 2pm GMT at Print Them All website in a limited edition of 99 pieces. It is printed on BFK Rives 270g paper with hand decked edges,measuring 77.5 x 54.5 cm and comes signed and numbered by the artist.
