Brazilian artist Rodrigo Branco spent last couple of months working on a comprehensive series of portraits titled “Distintos Filhos” (Distinct Family). Commissioned by MyFinBec art project, part of the the series was recently presented to public @ Paris Urban Art Fair.
Branco was born and raised in Sao Paulo, and was showing interest for art from his early age. After discovering graffiti on the streets of his hometown, he started painting in public, but soon switched from textual towards figurative work. Influenced by the visual impairment he suffered from as a kid, his abstract portraits are showing subjects as blurred patches of colors and shapes. These images are inspired by his childhood memories of circus visits and looking at his dad’s photographs. For this series the artist created 42 such paintings using graphite, spray paint, acrylic and oil on canvas, along with 2 larger pieces that are used for vine labels. The canvases are available for purchase via MyFinBec website and are coming unstretched or framed, along with 2 bottles of organic wine with his Branco’s artworks.
