as part of the Late Shows programming which channels over 10,000 people around the cities cultures traps, galleries, and museums. It’s this engine upon which we build ‘The Saint’. A dedicated body of work within the iconic landmark that is St Nicholas’ Cathedral here in the centre of Newcastle. We are presenting a hand full of our favourite artists, original work, selected pieces from our archive and commissioned photography. With specifically constructed scaffolding we will rig the work with bespoke lighting to great affect. Accompanying the beautiful works on display will be a line-up of specifically curated local music makers, live acoustic sets, and angelic additions.
The space is truly magical, so many break off areas, nooks, and crannies.

UNIT44 will be hosting a collection of artists and works at the iconic Newcastle landmark that is St Nicholas’ Cathedral. Dating back to 1091 with the building we see today completed in 1350 this 14th Century church provides an incredibly bespoke backdrop to this exhibition whilst providing a beautiful context. Partnering with the venue itself they invite a number of artists as part of the Late Shows programming. The Cathedral presents an incredible attraction in itself that needs to be seen / experienced. In addition there will a dedicated music agenda, street food, and pop up bar serving local beers, spirits, and cocktails throughout the night.
St Nicholas’ Cathedral, St Nicholas Sq, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE11PF.
Friday from 5pm until 11pm
Saturday from 12 midday until 11pm.
“Taking over bespoke spaces brings us great satisfaction. Giving the project context whilst encouraging juxtaposition. It’s always interesting to see how these things pan out. If nothing else, people will enjoy a beer in a truly spectacular setting.”
