45RPM at Entrepreneurs Store ‘Upstairs Gallery’ recap

Bristol based graffiti artist / designer and sometimes-clothing-accessory-producer 45RPM recently opened a new exhibition Entrepreneurs Store ‘Upstairs Gallery’ in Stoke-on-Trent alongside a permanent mural in the city centre. Describing himself as a ‘Compulsive designer with his fingers in many creative pies who will paint, draw, design and photograph anything and everything’ 45RPMS work is a lighthearted take on 1970’s graffiti mixed with the slang and geographically idiosyncratic phrases in uk language.

Continuing on from the success of his recent Ironlak Strikers video (courtesy of celebrated film maker Selina Miles) the permanent mural and month long exhibition see the artists colorful and comical character based works progress their existence as distinct artistic entities, being the main focus of the exhibition alongside some very special, one off ceramic collaborations with local ceramicist Jasmine Simpson and a selection of photographic prints.

The exhibition ran from the 8th January – 3rd February at the Entrepreneurs Store, 51 – 53 Piccadilly, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 1HR. Several prints from the show are available to purchase both online and in-store in extremely limited editions.

The mural itself takes pride of place in the city centre, adding to a steadily growing collection of pieces from artists such as; Faust, Vibes, Krek & Faunagraphic.
