The Ink and Clog x Uppercup X That One Shot

Name / tag:
The Ink and Clog

Where are you from / based:
Singapore, Singapore

Describe your work or style:
A hybrid of both abstract formation and complex illustration. Forming a universe of experimental subjects.

The Uppercup event is raising money for animal welfare, why is this a cause that you wanted to support?
We ourselves are animal lovers, we live in an eco-system that co-exist. If one falls, the other perish.

Did the fact that this piece was for a major cause change they way you looked at and approached the project?
Yes it does. Every work that we put in, part of our souls are adapted into the work’s DNA. Not one piece has the same aesthetic or story.

Can you tell us a bit about your piece?
The two Uppercups are entitled The Oysters. It resembles that time and effort being put into creating beauty but in some sense, it is not appreciated by many. Mostly being looked upon and forgotten that somehow it did made a change in our lives at some point of time. A time changer, an effect only recognised by deep focus and not subconsciousness. Like our flora and fauna, we sometimes exploit it’s existence and assistance towards mankind’s purpose on earth.

How do you think urban art plays a part in raising awareness for causes such as animal welfare?
Many have labelled or stereotyped us as nuisance or rebellious. But somehow, it’s purity and humble doings and sole purpose for passion have made it somewhat a genuine act of speech.
