Keeping you up to date with some of the stars of Chasing Ghosts’ Uppercup exhibition, it is with great pleasure we introduce you to OHNOES!
Where are you from / based:
Describe your work or style:
Mixed Medium with a Street Art influence
The Uppercup event is raising money for animal welfare, why is this a cause that you wanted to support?
As can be seen throughout a lot of my art, I have large admiration for animals. When asked to donate some time to a cause that helps them, I didn’t hesitate at the opportunity.
Did the fact that this piece was for a major cause change they way you looked at and approached the project?
I always try with every piece to improve on the previous. With this piece I applied the same principles as can be seen throughout my work. I didn’t feel that the cause should put weight on my art.
Can you tell us a bit about your piece?
My work always have elements of both commercial and personal that have had influence on my life.
How do you think urban art plays a part in raising awareness for causes such as animal welfare?
Urban art everyday is growing in popularity and demand. The power of demand offers opportunity to give back. Art in all it’s forms encourages creativity and inspiration, and with those tools influence growth to help our world flourish.
How did you decide upon your name / tag?
I like to find the humour in most things in life, what’s life without a little chuckle. So when deciding on my alias it was organic….I am clumsy!
Who or what motivates you?
It would be hard to put a single title of one source of inspiration, or a individual. I would say growing as a artist I have learnt to absorb my surroundings, be it a particular pattern on the street, interesting colour combinations or could be as simple as a hook in a song I am vibing in the moment could change the whole direction of a piece, and of course my peers.. My fellow studio members. (the arts hole)
