On October 16th Montana Gallery Barcelona opened a solo show by the young Polish artist Natalia Rak. “Butterfly Effect” is her first exhibition in Spain and it features all new body of work created for this event, consisting of canvases and couple of works on paper.
Natalia gathered international recognition with her recognizable murals she’s been painting around Europe and the world. Mixing different classic techniques and methods learned during fine arts study along with street art aesthetics, her style is a blend of the most exciting from the two worlds. The influences by Marvel, Rockwell, or Giger are only adding to the uniqueness of her visual language. Her dreamlike, vibrant works are mostly inspired on her own view on reality or dreams, from an ironic viewpoint. Both scary and humorous at the same time, the works carry childlike innocence and imagination fused with almost twisted mind of a 21st century young woman. From little girls flying with balloons to drowning lovers “Butterfly Effect” shows both the power of her imagination and the strength of her artistic skills, accented with her signature use of exceptionally over saturated color palette.
