The hard working people behind the stellar POW! WOW! Hawaii continue spreading their creative energy and experience around the world. Over the years this humble art project has grown into a global network of artists that organizes gallery shows, lecture series, schools for art and music, mural projects, concerts, and live art installations across the globe. After expanding to cities and countries such as Taiwan, Austin, Israel, Singapore, Jamaica, Washington D.C., Guam, New Zealand, Germany and more, the next location for the POW! WOW! family is Long Beach, California.
Californian city will see murals pop up between June 22-27, along with exhibitions, Jeff Staple’s 1-2-1 talks with Fafi on June 24th, screening of Nychos’ documentary ”The Deepest Depths Of The Burrow” on June 25th, and finally, a museum show opening on Friday, June 26th. The Long Beach Museum of Art in collaboration with Thinkspace Gallery and POW! WOW! will be hosting “Verve and Vitality: Transforming the Urban Landscape”, featuring newest large scale works created on both floors of the LBMA exclusively by 20 international artists. The artist rooster for POW! WOW! Long Beach includes Audrey Kawasaki, Aaron Horkey, Brendan Monroe, Cryptik, Esao Andrews, Greg “Craola” Simkins, Hot Tea, James Bullough, Nosego, Alex Yanes, Andrew Schoultz, Brandon Shigeta, Jeff Soto, John S.
