Converse announces their Sneakers Clash Wall in Fremantle as part of a series of artistic installations across the world. Designed to disrupt and clash against a grey world, Sneakers Clash Wall is directly inspired by the bold and colourful creative spirit of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ‘70 sneaker.
From May 8 2014, the large and bland infrastructure at the rear of 1-5 South Terrace Fremantle, Western Australia will be transformed by Australian street artists Just Another Artist Alex Lehours,Yok and Sheryo to create a truly democratic mural. Converse invites fans from around the world to interact with the artists and influence their creations by making suggestions of what to paint – forming a series of collaborations that will be anything but boring.
Members of the public are invited to submit their ideas for the mural using the hashtag #SneakersClashFreo via Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Submissions can come in the form of words, photos, or video. The best submissions will be selected and interpreted by the artists to feature permanently on the iconic Market Street building.
The site to be transformed is located at the rear of 1-5 South Terrace, Fremantle, Western Australia.
Submissions for the mural close Wednesday May 7. Mural work will begin from Thursday May 8 and be completed on Monday May 12.
