Wax Wars Battle 7 – feat. Teem
Last week saw Clockwerk take the lead over Zero, with Clockwerk going through to the Finals. This week sees Zero and Heavy Hands competing for their shot at 3rd place.
As always, all the artists stepped up, with Sprinkles going in on the canvas like a man possessed. His sick mix of Chinese and Maori influences came good with a sterling effort on the wall.
More jump off after the jump off!
As with all the artworks produced on the night, there will be a wrap party in conjunction with Westsyde, where all the finished pieces will be up for grabs.
This week, Teem, a Sydney-based illustrator, stencil artist and graphic designer, comes through with the paint bomb. Known for his exploration of pop culture and iconic global imagery, no doubt he’ll be laying it down as the boys tear up the wax.
Teem’s artworks are provocative both in colour and subject. His work cuts up bold street language with overlaying pastel colours, playing around with cultural icons from trainers to heavy graffiti references.
Get down to Name This Bar on Oxford St, Sydney, this evening for the penultimate part of this epic scratch battle. Doors open at 8 and DJ’s include Klevakutz, Reubix and and all-star showcase from Mike Who.
