Late August 2011, VNA was invited along to the White Canvas Project – paint jam, set in an old boat building warehouse just past Cambridge. In an event organised by the crew at SupremeBeing, the first instalment saw artists Mr Jago, Bue the Warrior, David Walker, Will Barras and SheOne come together and smash out works on everything from old doors and fence sections through to petrol cans and car bonnets.
The idea behind the project is that everything and anything can be used as a canvas, and that an artist can be inspired not only by their environment, but also other like minded painters and people.
All the work produced in Cambridge will be on show (and for sale) later this year in London. Details on the exhibition and more to be announced soon…
With more paint jams in the works for mainland Europe and beyond, WCP is a project worth keeping an eye on.
