David Walker Hits Paris

You’re just embarrassed, cos this your ‘Last Tango in Paris’.. Well said Ms Hill, but you never met David Walker did ya?

Walker is tearing it up in France right about now, with his first solo show in the French capital, opening tonight.

We’re not ones to pay much attention to the mainstream press, but the now defuct (sic) London chip-wrapper, The Metro, quoted Walker as ‘Banksy’s new rival in Street Art’, so we’ll probably carry on ignoring the shit that lazy hacks spout for attention. Walker is fucking talented with paint, not sayin’ Banksy isn’t, but let’s be honest, Banksy’s work is more politically motivated, whereas Walker has a sheer artistic gift for portraiture. Dude has only been painting for 3 years. THREE. FRICKING. YEARS.

Monsieur Le Walker has recently teamed up with UK streetwear brand, Supremebeing for the show, which will be accompanied shortly by a mini-film about his trip in a couple weeks – keep ’em skinned, we’ll blog it up when it drops. There’ll be more hot shit off the metaphorical shovel to come this year with more collaborative David Walker x Supremebeing projects set to blow.

The Galerie La Tours is situated in the heart of Paris overlooking the Louvre Hotel at 111 Rue Saint Honore Paris 1ER.

The exhibition opens TONIGHT – Thursday 17th March and continues until 3rd April 2011.

Gallery is open – Tue – Fri 12pm – 7pm & Saturday 10am – 6pm.
