M-City on Warsaw Underground

M-City who we interviewed in issue 12 has his ‘subway train’ work presented at Marymont underground station. That’s in Warsaw.

Galeria A19 who manages 123 square metres of wall surface has this to say about the project:

Art in public places such as the underground is not the only alternative for pushing forward advertisement but it also creates an identity of a surrounding space and influences the city map and network. Exhibited works become the medium of communication, through which artists articulate their standpoints and argue about the shape of the urban space as well as its content. They also allow us to associate with a new content and a new language of communication during an everyday journey – ‘on the way’.
