Papergirl Glasgow – The Art of Giving Art

What is Papergirl? Well, it is an all-inclusive and non-commercial art project which consists of an open call for artworks, an exhibition and urban action. It aims to take art distribution out of galleries and into the streets, via direct delivery to the public in the style of American paperboys, and to broaden the public consciousness of both local and global artists and give artists a wider, more liberal venue to exhibit their work.

Papergirl was founded in Berlin in 2006 by Aisha Ronniger. The project sparked from the tightening of a German law that equated sticking up posters in public places with graffiti. Papergirl was Aisha’s response to the limitations brought on by the government as a new way to distribute art directly to society without violating laws.

Since 2006 the project has spread to other countries and has captured the attention of artists throughout the world including US, Brazil, Canada, UK, Argentina, Romania, Canada and South Africa. Papergirl Glasgow is the second papergirl in the UK and they are now looking for your submissions. More info:
