Last night was the UK premiere of ‘New Brow: The Rise of Underground Art’ at Westbourne Studios in West London.
Written and directed by Tanem Davidson, it documents how the ‘Low Brow’ movement (along with pop surrealism and graffiti) have given birth to a lot of the art we see on the streets today. The film is essentially a series of interviews with people who’ve helped create the movement as we know it, with a focus on the States and the migration of West Coast Low Brow to the bigger galleries of the East Coast, and NYC in particular.
Interesting stuff, all in all…
New Brow is being shown again this weekend and you can book tickets here
